I will not condemn them quite yet.
Like, there's not a whole lot of foreshadowing for them dying.
All right, let's keep moving on here.
Do you think that it's notable that the wardens for the Tri-Council, so basically they're elite guards, they have pale eyes?
Because it's my understanding that your eyes go milky with age, especially if you're ingesting bloodstone and far prolonging your already long fae life.
So do pale eyes mean that they are also using bloodstone for its medicinal purposes or that their lives are somehow prolonged with bloodstone so that they don't have to go through, you know, onboarding training too much and they can just stick with the same wardens for a few extra generations?
Or is this pale eye description just completely inconsequential?
Yeah.
Fuck, that would be sick.
I love that.
We get our first real glimpse of Rave's trauma from the fighting pits specifically.
When they're in the village heading to Saharna's family home, Rave feels like she's right back at the fighting pits with the bars like grinding up.
It's like I take it as a gate or something like that to keep their home protected, but it's these bars grinding up.
like a widening jaw.
And these little glimpses are just crazy foreshadowing for when she will be back in the pits at the end of the book.
And I think too, because when she does come out of the fighting pits, we will be in Khan's POV.
But right in this moment, we're in her POV.
So we're able to still get that feeling of when she's about to go into the pits here.
Do you think that's a really interesting world-building tidbit for the Fae, where when they are bloodlusting, they literally itch with their fingernails, and it's noticeable.
And I just find that so fascinating, again, with how in-depth this world is.
