What is making me happy this week is the novel Yesteryear by Carol Claire Burke is about what you would consider a trad wife influencer.
She has several kids, lives on a farm with her husband, does tutorials about making bread on YouTube, all that kind of stuff.
One day she wakes up actually in 1855 living in very harsh circumstances and
Part of this is a satirical story about how this woman who has been vocally against feminism and modernity reacts when kind of the full force of what doing without those things would mean for her is brought to bear on her own life.
Part of it is a retelling that happens in flashbacks of how she became this influencer in the first place.
And then part of it, obviously, is this mystery element about what's going on and why she has undergone this radical change of lifestyle.
Also, another crossover with the Devil Wears Prada, Anne Hathaway has already secured the rights for this.
I have heard intends to play the main character.
And I will be fascinated to see where that comes out.
But it is a really interesting book.
Yesteryear by Caro Claire Burke.
And that is what is making me happy this week.
