And that's almost the problem, if you will, with gratitude.
You can watch videos.
You can ask questions.
The thing that I found the hardest was how do I get out of my own way, from my own belief system that I'm not good enough to get started in the first place.
Gratitude can be beautiful.
It can really pull you out when something's becoming negative.
It can show you the light.
It can show you what
the positive side of things are, but it also can keep you exactly where you are.
And I think so many women struggle with that.
And that's the catalyst.
And that's what happened to me is I stayed exactly where I was for eight years because I felt I had to be grateful for the fact that I had a husband that loved me, that I had a roof over my head.
So if you don't have the catalyst, you then don't actually end up going anywhere.
So in writing the book and really thinking about my story, I'm always thinking about where are women now?
Why do we get stuck?
And so when you use gratitude to hold you stuck, that's when it can become toxic.
And then how do we get out of that?
How do we build the confidence to speak up, to get out of it?
And so for me, I had that toxic gratitude.
And I think that becomes the first step.
