But he's also working on solutions after two deadly shootings.

Changes include focusing on criminal suspects who pose a public safety threat.

And he says Minnesota's attorney general has told him local and state jails will notify ICE if an illegal immigrant is being released, part of an effort to reduce the numbers of federal agents in communities.

Senate Democrats want ICE reforms and spending bills to avoid a partial government shutdown are blocked as negotiations continue.

Also during that cabinet meeting, President Trump saying he personally asked Russian President Vladimir Putin to stop firing on Ukraine's capital and other cities for one week because of extreme cold.

And he says the Russian leader agreed.

There's been no confirmation from Moscow, but Ukraine's president posting this was discussed during recent trilateral negotiations in the UAE and that Ukraine expects the agreements to be implemented.
