Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Arakhchi says the first phase of negotiations centered on ending the war, opening the Strait of Hormuz and lifting a U.S.

naval blockade on Iran.

Iran says several ships have already made it to Iranian ports since a deal was announced Monday.

Arakhchi says the next phase of talks that start this Friday will focus on nuclear issues and lifting U.S.

sanctions.

But he says the most important aspect of the deal is ending wars on all fronts, including starting Friday in Lebanon.

He says Iran would view Israel's continued occupation of southern Lebanon as a violation of the agreement.

Israel's prime minister says Israel will remain in a, quote, buffer zone of southern Lebanon for as long as necessary.

Iran's Mehr Hanoush Agency, which is close to Iran's powerful Revolutionary Guard, says $12 billion in frozen assets will be available to Iran in the initial phase of the deal.

It says $12 billion more will be released over the course of negotiations and that oil sanctions will be lifted.

but says there's an upside, too.

Vance is set to lead the U.S.

in talks with Iran this Friday.

Iran says it will be represented by Mohammad Berger-Ghalibaf, a senior politician and former commander in the Revolutionary Guard.
