People were clamoring for something.

Because they didn't get the satisfaction of showing that we were purposely trying to kill the market to make money, which of course we weren't, and everybody really understood that.

Of course, and everybody understood that we were buffeted by the same forces as everybody else.

They actually – the committee chairman put out a referral to the Justice Department to investigate me for –

I didn't even know what the crime was.

Potentially was it giving bad testimony in a hearing?

But the FBI, compliant as it is, did an investigation.

I would get picked up and brought to the Southern District Office, interviewed with a court stenographer.

That happened like three or four times.

And your mind kind of says, whoa.

I know I'm fine.

I know there's nothing to it, but some 34-year-old assistant attorney general could ask for a grand jury and do something.

It didn't happen that way, but it could have.

That's certainly...

You know, that certainly gets you to focus.

But we were all in the financial markets.

We overlapped.

I mean, we knew what each other was doing the whole time.
