It absolutely crushed me.
I was devastated because it felt like, oh, is this the beginning of the end of the band?
But then also I'm like, this is like my best mate in the band at the time.
So it was, I'd lost a friend and someone in the band.
It's funny, you know, I've heard you say that you didn't, you weren't prepared for the success of One Direction, but you also weren't prepared for the end of One Direction.
Oh no.
And you describe it as hitting you like a ton of bricks.
Yeah, it was awful.
It wasn't until after the event that I realised that I actually computed all these feelings, but it was like, I was straight grieving for it.
And that was grieving the band.
I'm someone who unfortunately has a little bit of experience in grief and albeit it felt different, but it was a version of the same thing.
It was something that I really wanted that couldn't have any more.
I think like anything like that, you know, like if you're like, I'm a glass half full kind of guy.
So like I felt the wheel start to turn in motion like that.
But you're looking the other way.
You're like, no, it's fine.
It's not going to play out like that.
It's never going to come to that, whatever.
And then we had a meeting one day and it did.
