Obviously, their frontal lobe hasn't fully developed.
So I'll allow a little bit of leeway there.
But for the father to be defending it is absolutely bananas.
You're an adult.
And the other side of them being teenage boys is that
It just betrays what a problem we have when it comes to young men's attitudes to sex, sexual assault, and rape.
Like, to not know that that would be a problem is really frightening.
Because it just shows a lack of seriousness when it comes to these kinds of abuses.
Nobody would be miming that in a parade.
Yeah, because, you know, there were definitely people in attendance at that parade who've been sexually assaulted because unfortunately loads of us get sexually assaulted in the course of our lifetime.
So even if you're not mimicking their sexual assault, you're still making fun of sexual assault.
And like, you know, one of the other dads, I'm reading this from the Limerick Leader, by the way, one of the other dads said he agreed that the floats were inappropriate, but he said that they did not go out to hurt anyone.
They had done it as pure fun and they just didn't have enough cop on to realize it would offend people.
And he says, maybe there wasn't a funny side to it, but there is great nature in those young lads and they meant no harm.
And like, okay, but again, then like, let's use this as an opportunity to have a conversation about why this isn't appropriate.
Let's try and educate them.
You know, it would feel better if you felt like that was what was happening.
I mean, I'm sure they've learned some lesson.
I'm just not sure if they've learned the right lessons.
You know, we just, and we won't know about that is the reality.
