I mean, first of all, just like leave trans people alone.
Like, honest to God, they're such a tiny minority.
Leave them alone.
Like, just from the get-go, leave them alone.
But secondly, if you think cis women will not be impacted by rulings like this, you are gone in the head because once you start measuring...
testing ruling on womanhood that will impact all of us like absolutely no doubt about it it's gonna we are the only people who will suffer as a result of this all of this nonsense I mean obviously in addition to trans people who are you know just facing far too much as it is um like this whole thing is just it feels like a weird like gesture to quieten people like obviously there was a
Whole heap of controversy at the Olympics around Kastor Semenya, who won medals in London 2012 and Rio 2016, and then Amani Khalif in Paris in 2024.
Like, these are not trans women that we're talking about, by the way.
These are called DSD.
So they were reported female at birth, but they do have male chromosomes and male testosterone levels.
Like, that's quite common.
1%, more than 1% of people are categorized as intersex.
So, you know, these kinds of things are not straightforward.
And like to kind of pretend like they are is just willfully ignorant, in my opinion.
I saw that Tenny, the Transgender Equality Network Ireland put out a statement over the weekend saying,
they said the international olympic committee has regressed 30 years of progress towards gender equality in sports backtracking on its own 2021 commitments to gender equality and inclusion said yesterday they announced that it is reintroducing genetic sex testing on all athletes in the women's category banning transgender and intersex athletes from the women's category this reinstates a practice previously ended by the ioc in 1996 which was then defined by the committee so the very same committee as quote scientifically and ethically unjustifiable
They said this just last month, the United Nations human rights experts condemned mandatory genetic sex testing, rigid biological criteria and the transparency of ongoing eligibility decisions within international sporting bodies.
They warned that such measures undermine dignity, privacy and equality of athletes.
I mean, yes, it's crazy.
And, you know, it's just a horrifying example of where things are going at the moment in terms of, you know, people's attitudes towards trans people.
