Why can't we look at the very obvious problem, which is that we are not managing people's mental health in particularly in the area of addiction effectively, that it isn't easy enough for people to access treatment, that there isn't enough appropriate care for people who experience addiction.

Like there's so much we could do, you know, from a from a health care perspective.

stance to improve this stuff but that rarely seems to be spoken about you know so maybe people did feel a little bit maybe there are people who felt a little bit safer because because O'Connell Street was full of men from outside of Dublin who were sitting on their big tractors and you know fine maybe like I can I can kind of see that if you're someone who who sees kind of a

you know on a on a fairly regular basis and by scary stuff I'm mainly talking about the kind of behavior around addiction which I see and I'm not gonna lie if I'm in town with my kids sometimes I have seen things you know that I really wish my kids weren't seeing like that's just the truth that doesn't mean I don't have empathy for the people who are who are suffering as a result of addiction I absolutely do um but I just think that that that the the real problem

for the most part in the city center in that area is coming from addiction and we just seem to have a complete unwillingness to actually tackle you know the mental health challenges and the addiction which leads to a lot of the anti-social behavior and quote-unquote crime in the city center um i don't know man i don't know instead you know we'll do these yeah this like kind of occasional dog whistling about immigration and you're like what are you what are you talking about like yeah what are you talking about

Yeah.

Yeah.

Well, look, I mean, we don't have any answers today and there's not an election in the immediate future.

So I guess we'll move on to something.

Oh, I mean, do we call it fun?

I did see some interesting content this week around the fact that apparently Sis Madden's on Drury Street had its outdoor license revoked.

And indeed, I think they've said that there's to be no outdoor drinking on Drury Street.
