Emma, what's your question?
Good morning, doctors.
I have always been incredibly afraid of death.
It just scares the living daylights out of me.
So I was just wondering, is there a scientific explanation or fear around this or is it just something that I need to seek some therapy for?
And Emma, when you say that you are scared of death, do you mean that you yourself are scared of dying or you're scared of being confronted with death?
What does that mean for you?
Yeah, a bit of both.
I've always, if I think about myself dying, it's something that just freaks me out and I just have to stop thinking about it completely.
And then I do get very, very emotional on TV shows, movies, obviously people close to me dying, funerals.
Yeah, so a bit of both.
Wow.
Yeah.
Emma can relate.
Dr. Hannah, why are we so afraid of death?
Yes, I've had two grandparents and then a family friend of a grandparent who actually was in the hospital after he passed.
So it was there.
when I was going back 20, 25 years ago.
So I recall the look on his face, like obviously the mouth's still open and eyes slightly open.
So very fresh, someone passing.
