He hasn't done any centre bounces or very few centre bounces up until this week, and he had 24 on the weekend.
And I just had a look at the first quarter and a half, and a lot of the centre bounce stoppages, he went and stood beside Cozzy Pickett.
And I don't think it was there as a hard tag, as a hard...
but it was just more at stoppages.
You've had that defensive side of you in the back line.
You've played on him while he's been as a forward.
Just go and keep a bit of an eye on him.
So you're feeling for him because he's trying to understand himself as a leader, as a player.
What does the club expect from him as a captain?
At the same time, his role across halfback, they're trying to probably get a little bit of flexibility with him as well, push him into the midfield to be that shutdown man if they do need that moving forward.
It depends what you want from your captain.
First of all, they need a lot of those other leaders to be out there because a captain is no good unless they've got five or six blokes around them that are doing and saying the same message to the players is what the captain's doing.
So you can cap them from anywhere in the field, but you need your colleagues out there, your other leadership members to be
all spread around the ground.
I know that we had a few times where we brought some forwards.
When we had Ruffy injured, we'd bring some forwards in as a leadership group because we needed them to be preaching the same message as what we're saying in the midfield and the defence.
So where he plays doesn't really matter.
He can do it from the back pocket because what he can do is from the back pocket, you can see ahead of you on the field.
You can be still giving messages to your halfback.
After goals, you can be pushing up, letting your mids know, are they manning up?
