So there was, like, a rotating bevy of, like, aunts and uncles and people that she played mahjong with.
And I remember being babysat once by the mailman.
Like, they're just... Everyone kind of chipped in to... In our family of two.
So...
Yeah, I think that I've always sort of had this nuanced view of family in that way.
Yeah, I never want to spoon feed a reader information or at least I want to write to the way I want to read something where like it should be kind of a communal discovery and like just, I don't know, giving a reader more credit.
And yeah, and I thought that it would be fun to create unreliable stories
narrators and like a kind of a puzzle to put together where you're not totally sure I mean because that is like the nature of American conspiracy is like you're never really sure if this is actually going on or not um and then I thought like without being too without giving too many spoilers of like kind of just validating everyone in the end um and having that like satisfying moment for the reader and how about you Angela?
Um, I think that once what I've struggled with the most and what I would recommend to someone who's like writing or finishing a book is that like once you have finished to maybe have some sort of like, I don't know, little ceremony or moment for yourself to like part with the work because once it's
out of your hands.
I don't know, it's very vulnerable, very much like having a child, you no longer have control over it and you, you know, watch it get like ripped apart and even like positive reviews sometimes you feel like misunderstood and I would just say like have like a moment with the work where it's like still truly just yours and like that and then before like giving it away.
Thank you.
Thank you.
