I think he was madly in love with her, but I think she was attractive to him for that.
I think she was attractive to him because how she looked and how she behaved and, you know, her education and their chemistry.
But I think...
When he was bringing more to the table and she'd brought it all and she'd no more to bring, I think he was like, okay, I'm kind of done.
There's one part of the book, and I don't know if I mentioned to you a few weeks ago, she goes to a gynecologist, she's going for an appointment, possibly a smear test.
You don't get into that detail, but she goes in, has the appointment, a female doctor, her legs are up in the stirrups and the doctor says, how are you?
And she, instead of saying the usual thing, like, I'm OK.
She said, I'm not good at all.
My husband has left me.
And I think six months ago, something like that.
She said, my husband walked out on us, left us.
No signs, no warnings.
And I'm really just devastated by I'm so shocked.
And she said, yeah, you don't work, do you?
And she said, well, no, I kind of stepped back from my career looking after the kids.
And she said, yeah, you know, men find women who don't work kind of boring.
So that might be one of the reasons.
