Yeah.
Yeah, I don't think she deserves the blame because she's incredible, but...
Janae is probably the sole artist you could look to to see where R&B completely changed.
Her success changed R&B to more of what we would call like the whisper singers and more of like that really moody R&B, less singing out, less love songs, even though Janae makes those.
She started this wave, intentionally or not intentionally, of where we're at with music now.
To me, it's Aaliyah and it's JhenΓ© of what R&B is right now.
That's their fault.
But even 40's sound, to me, is very similar.
What was JhenΓ©'s, not her first album, but that mixtape?
Sailing Souls?
Classic.
Love that.
A lot of that, I mean, of course, Drake was even on that.
Yeah, 2012, yeah.
40's sound is similar to what JhenΓ© was doing as far as that underwater, dark tone type of thing.
So yeah, Frank's there as well, but I think JhenΓ©, Drake, and 40, yeah, would be the... Yeah.
And then... And a lot of Drake's R&B shit is, especially the early stuff, was his best Aaliyah impression written by Party Next Door.
Yeah.
So...
These artists, even though they did it the best, like I don't consider Janae a whisper singer, but she did open the door for a lot of bullshit R&B because they thought it looked easy, but it's not.
