In 1966, a police officer from Manchester said that he was one of many law enforcement officials who paid social visits to Jimmy Savile's Manchester apartment.

This officer said that several teenage girls and several police were a near constant presence at Savile's flat and that his fellow police officers would often disappear into the back rooms with Jimmy's teenage visitors.
