And so really those first conversations were about making sure Enon and Mattel knew that we would protect the brand and take care of it, but also do something meaningful with it.

And we were quite honest in that first meeting of like, if we're doing a Barbie movie, we're going to be saying something and it has to be culturally relevant and this has to be elevated and cinematic and all the things.

we're going to be making comments with the movie sort of thing.

So obviously we'll do that with someone who's very smart.

Like I did pitch Greta in the meeting.

I was like, you know, like a Greta Gerwig.

Yeah, so smart.

Who I had spoken to previously about other films and stuff.

And she, I think at the time, was filming Little Women, but she had done Lady Bird.

Anyways.

And so, yeah, so first step one really was just, like, letting them know that we would – we understood how important this property is to them, that we would, you know, be good partners to them.

And then also, like, yeah, then it was setting up the studio.

And then it was going after Greta and being like –

Do you want to do a Barbie movie?

And then it was about what her take was really.

It was never me being like, I have a take.

Do you want to do this?

It was like, I trust you to have something.

I bet you have something to say.
