What's the level of entitlement here?
How do they not know how it works?
It's on Google.
You can look up many stadium deals where this happened and you can read articles.
I wrote a whole term paper about it.
Did you really?
Well, or you go to Indiana where it simply is about the most public money to build what you want to build.
And I said this before.
It's disrespectful to the state of Indiana who put forth all the bills and put forth the legislation and put forth the process and told their taxpayers what this was going to be if you're not sincere about building their either.
Well, and the thing is, is I understand that there's a massive frustration with how politics operates both in the city and in the state.
And I deal with it every day.
It sounds like there was a bunch of that that happened late night on Sunday as to why the bill didn't pass to begin with.
But there's some culpability here, too, on the part of the team asking for stuff in a rare situation.
And Bill Cunningham is correct.
It is rare for a team to ask for help in the state that typically comes from a county, it typically comes from a city, or it comes from a taxing entity that's a joint coalition of a couple different cities, hotel tax, etc.
That's usually how it goes.
Nothing they've done about this has been usual.
And that's what makes this hard.
But at the same time, since you don't get to vote on it, we want your voice to be heard here because somebody should hear it.
