The Angels used to write a lot of checks.
They never met a check they didn't like.
That was for sure.
If you were a free agent who had had all-star status for a couple years, the Angels were like, oh, would you like to play in Orange County?
It looked good.
And then they gave people a lot of money.
Pujols batted 117 games and had a .2 war in Shohei Otani's rookie season with the Angels.
They existed together, but it was not a beautiful thing.
