So if it was to be today, I ask again.
Would you rather go after the best hitter that you could get on the market or the best pitcher that you could get on the market?
And I get it.
It's reflexively, we all think pitching, right?
That's what really works in the postseason.
And with Tarek Skubal potentially available, you think about that.
And with the Cubs injuries that they've had, you think about needing a starting pitcher.
But we come in here almost every day talking about the Chicago Cubs and how agonizing the offense is and going 0 for 6 or 0 for 10 or 1 for 15 with runners in scoring position.
I feel like we've been doing this every day for about two months now.
Do we not need to take a more serious look at the Cubs?
If you are going to add, if the Cubs earn addition, and we know that's the way it's worked with Theo Epstein and sometimes with Jed Hoyer through the years, do you even deserve me to make moves and give up resources at the trade deadline?
Are you guys worth my time?
Is it time to think about offense as opposed to pitching and the priorities that exist?
Because this is all we talk about.
We do talk about it when the pitching is bad, but it's not as consistently bad as the hitting is.
The pitching's not as bad as the hitting has been this year.
Come on.
The pickings actually held up pretty well, all things considered.
Two really good starts.
Ben Brown keeps giving you good starts.
