Conservatism is having a resurgence.
It's not happening.
Right now, there's an existential battle of two different worldviews.
And it's like, you can find, you can frame it as a fight between Republicans and Democrats, but I don't think that really catches everything.
Because Donald Trump didn't win because of just Republicans, okay?
So it's like, well, what happens when MAGA goes away, when it loses its political capital?
What replaces it?
If it's basically Mitt Romney's Republican Party, then they will suffer a massive defeat.
Well, is it liberalism versus conservatism?
I don't think that's correct either.
Because what even is conservatism?
What have they conserved?
Who's the conservative leader?
And I'll tell you what, the Gen Zs, they don't want to hear about conservatism.
They think ideas like free market capitalism have failed them.
And so is it a religious battle?
Well, I don't know.
I look at the religious polling and I can tell you that in many ways it appears to me like the church has just sort of abdicated this fight.
Like it doesn't really find that its message is relevant for people who go to church to talk about values, to talk about the things that Americans need to stand for.
How's this?
