Robert Walters, they've got the salary growth illusion, or what they're calling the salary growth illusion.
This is a report into who's earning what, why, where and how.
Start of the year, 57% of professionals had received a pay rise from last year, vast majority between 2.5% and 5%.
Eighty one percent of people say their pay rise doesn't keep up with the cost of living.
Only 17 percent of employers acknowledge that.
Now, the problem with that is, is that real or is it your perception of the cost of living?
Now, when you talk to the businesses, 67 percent of them say they plan to increase salaries this year.
So that's the vast majority.
Fifty six percent of employees on average expect to get one.
So somewhere there's a difference there.
So the guy's wanting to hand it out, but you're not expecting it.
So that's like a happy day, isn't it?
Pay rise is more likely to be mid to senior role level.
Up to 79% of these mid to senior employees are expecting a pay rise compared with interns at 53.
Interns don't deserve anything.
