Everywhere he goes, he's got a raincoat.
And so I'm assuming, I can ask him after eight if you want, but I'm not sure whether he came back because he was due to come back or whether he had to dash back.
But I do know, and this I suppose is exposing the fact he has a lot of holidays, I do know a number of his holidays have been interrupted.
by the weather i also know i was really nervous for him uh during his wedding or for his wedding which was a couple of weeks ago because not only was it in the latter part of the cyclone season he doesn't refer to summer or winter he just talks about cyclone seasons uh so it was in the cyclone season and it wasn't coromandel and i'm thinking how much trouble you want mark he goes don't worry i've got my raincoat so anyway so he got away with it was a very nice weekend
Be that as it may, I will ask him afterwards.
But I, on the weather front, I don't know whether to take him on because what Craig Little said was right.
And the state of emergency thing is woke.
And there's no question about it being woke.
And what happened when I was watching the supercars on Saturday when they called the state of emergency in the middle of the North Island?
at a time when even the forecasters, who were wrong anyway, were forecasting something very coastal, I thought, hold on here, they're calling this because somebody else called it.
And clearly that's what happens.
Every mayor rings up every mayor and they go, hey, look, we're about to call a state of emergency.
Do you think you'd like a state of emergency?
Well, yeah, I suppose seeing you're calling a state of emergency, we should have a state of emergency.
I wouldn't want to be seen without a state of emergency.
If you've got a state of emergency, that's how it works, isn't it?
Whether you need one or not, it's all preemptive.
And as Craig Little said yesterday, quite rightly, I looked at it and I thought, this is a faff.
It's too much energy, it's too much work, and it's not needed.
And God bless him for that.
