So I would think the Giants would learn from their mistakes and say, if you're Joe Shane, their GM going, you know, the last time we moved away from one of our best players because we looked at the value and said, yeah, you know what, running back value, we're not sure.
Look what happened to us as a franchise.
I would think that you would find a way to get Dexter Lawrence signed to a long-term deal.
The other thing that ends up happening to you, Mike, and this happens all the time, is when you reward the guys who have done it the right way, the guys who have the respect of the locker room, the guys that people look up to, and you reward those guys and you make them the highest paid guys at their position in your own franchise,
The Raiders, for me, were in a different spot because they're still looking for their quarterback.
The Giants feel like they may have found their guy, but they don't know yet.
You never know.
But they they're looking at it like Jackson Dark could be our guy.
And ultimately, the Raiders have been so bad for so long.
And this wasn't like Max, I think, wanted to be moved.
He wanted out of there.
Dexter Lawrence, Max had been paid.
He wanted to be out because, hey, man, we're not close and I want a chance to compete.
Dexter Lawrence didn't get the big long-term contract, so there's a difference there.
He's trying to get that long.
