I'll be happy to see myself.
I remember going there to the river, watching dance beat rolling the pools.
Because in Mozambique, where I grew up, we didn't have toilets, right?
So we remember doing our stuff in the bush.
After doing our stuff, we used to see them rolling the pools.
So it was like kind of funny as a kid.
So I'll be laughing.
I will be laughing if I could see that today.
So for you, dung beetles were these amazing little helpers that they just kind of take the poo and roll it away?
Yeah, definitely.
Of course, in that time, I didn't understand why they're doing that.
But now I understand that, like, we know that majority of dung beetles, they do feed on dung, right?
And of course, we know that in the process now of manipulating that dung, they ended up providing a lot of ecosystem service such as dung removal.
So to see how these small creatures are very important, are cleanest in our world.
Nature's cleaners.
Now, I want you to tell us about a place in Mozambique called Mount Mabu that you've done a lot of work.
Can you describe it to our listeners?
Mount Mabu is located in northern Mozambique.
The landscape itself, it's lowland savannah and the mountain is like an island in the middle of savannah.
