It was nice to see the Cubs score runs in bunches.

That's a real crooked number when you talk about a seven in the second inning.

I think the most encouraging part is I looked up at the box score.

I was like, wait, am I following this correctly?

The Cubs are what?

With runners in scoring position, all coming in that second inning.

Now, they didn't get any more hits with runners in scoring position after that.

They finished four for eight, but I'll take four for eight.

Yeah.

Because that's four hits of consequence in that situation, and that's something that had been sorely lacking.

Just to put into context, they did more damage with runners in scoring position in a single inning than they had done in the previous four games combined.

A single inning, four hits with runners in scoring position.

Three hits total over the previous four games combined with runners in scoring position.

And a close second, because we've got a little time, close second for me, Alex Bregman out of the two-hole.

It's fine.

Just move him down in the order.

Have other people who have shown you more as far as hitting the baseball with runners in scoring position and also just having more slug in their bat higher in the order than him.

That's the way lineups are supposed to work.
