Layla, I think the key here is Steve still wants to coach.
He's got a passion for it.
He's got a fire for it.
I've talked to him about it off and on all year.
He wants to be with Steph until the end.
The broadcasting jobs will be there, whether it's ESPN or otherwise.
The second that Steve leaves coaching, he can go and do whatever he wants.
I think there was a feeling after that Phoenix game at the end of the year that this might just be it, and certainly he's hugging those guys on the sideline.
You think, this isn't exactly normal.
But I think in the last week and a half, Steve sat there and went, I don't think I really want to leave.
I'm going to be the highest paid coach in the league, and I still have Steph Curry on my team, and I want to be here to finish what we've built.
So I wasn't surprised.
The broadcasting rumors are never going to go away because he's great at that too.
But between Steph Curry, the culture he's built, and the money they were offering, I think it was a pretty no-brainer for where he's at.
Guys, if the Tibbs saga actually has another chapter down there, I don't know if I'll be able to stay away.
