Welcome to the DSPN.
The Devlin Sports Podcast Network.
DSPN, what a pleasure this is.
First time, I think, on the programme.
He is so revered and respected.
Gilbert Anoka with the All Blacks for 20-something years.
That's not the only string to his bow, of course, but he's back with All Black Management.
Click the DSPN subscribe button on YouTube for us if you want to be part of Changing Sheds every Friday.
Then you text DSPN to 3598.
Gilbert is in Auckland at the moment as part of the Auckland Writers Festival.
And we'll talk about that, your book, and the hordes of young people that you're speaking to.
First and foremost, though, mate, I've got to say thank you so much for coming on.
And congratulations, because your name has always been there and thereabouts, the All Blacks.
And with the problems that we've had over the last couple of years, it just seemed like
it was kind of inevitable that yourself, that people like yourself, Graham Henry is back in the mix as well.
Is this a back to the future thing for you, or is it going to be something really different under Dave Rennie?
Gilbert, one of the things is, so when you look at this group of players and you look down that list of names, and I don't know how many of them that were around when you were there as well.
So are you thinking along those lines as well, that you're reintroducing yourself to some, but introducing yourself to most?
How different is, and this might be a really dumb question, I'm going to ask you some dumb questions and just slap me if you need to, mate, but how different is it from when the environment is a losing environment or not a successful environment to when it is a successful environment?
Because people like me assume that when it's a successful environment, Gilbert Anoka doesn't have to do a hell of a lot.
