And she says, God, he doesn't look well.
And at this stage, he had a second visit on to the hospital, and I actually thought he was slightly improved.
And she just said, she says, Mary, if that's him well, I'm proven I wouldn't like to have seen him when he's sick.
Take him back to the doctor now, which we did do that evening.
And the GP told us, go to the hospital, Mary.
He says,
stay there refused to leave until he scanned or that there's something actually done for him what I had noticed as well was he had a limp he wasn't walking properly and his right arm wasn't swinging you know naturally so although he was in no pain so we did go to the hospital and he was scanned the following day and I remember being in I was in with him Michael was at work and the nurse came in and she asked was Michael coming into the hospital today and I said yeah later in the evening could he not come now she says or sooner so I knew then there was something wrong
And I had followed the nurse out and asked her and she says, I can't talk to you or if I talk to you now, you have to talk to your husband alone.
So I waited for Michael to come and I can still see the consultant's face that day.
We were both brought into the room along with the nurse and he sat down and he just said, he says, I'm so sorry.
He says, Aaron has a large mass in his brain.
We can't tell you what it is.
We can only see the picture.
So within a couple of hours, literally, I would say an hour, an hour and a half, we were in an ambulance on the way to Beaumont.
How did you deal with anything yourself and you'll cope with anything but you don't want your children hurt?
So it was absolutely devastating, the thought of this and as I say, we weren't sure, we knew there was a mask there, we weren't sure what it was and
I remember being in the back of the ambulance on the way to Dublin.
There was a doctor and a nurse accompanied us and it was just awful.
And I remember at one of the roundabouts, the big roundabouts in Ballygoly, looking up in the sky and thinking, you know, is Erin ever going to come back?
You know, because we didn't know and you were in the back and you really didn't have any information other than there was something there.
