you know, he never spoke, he knew he was unwell and that, and sometimes he would actually use it to his advantage.

I remember an incident in the school where he was running around in the yard and his friends, and I remember him shouting, hearing him shout, because I would have worked in the school as an SMA, and, hey,

Slow down or wait for me.

You know I'm sick.

You know, so he kind of, he took that side of it as well.

He can sometimes use it to his advantage.

It was a nurse on the paediatric ward in Nettie Kenny that spoke to me one night about Make-A-Wish and asked if they wanted to put him forward for his wish.

So we agreed, we got the forms, filled in the forms and then Make-A-Wish made contact with us and the two volunteers that were working in our area, Carmel and Eileen from Donegal Town, they came to the house one night and Aaron had been, we had been given all the information and what he had to think about, I want to be, I want to get, I want to go, I want to meet.

So he was going through all of that.

But he hadn't really, at that stage, there was a thing about the night, because he always loved swords and fighting, and there was threes at the back, so they were always doing that.

So that was on the agenda.

And the night the girls came to the house to have the talk and the chat with us, he shocked us all because what he said was that he wanted a dog.

He had never said this to us.

And we were just like, I remember the girl saying to us, your chin hit the table, because there was no mention of a dog.

So basically, Aaron's wish was to be a knight and to rescue a dog.

And that all came about, coordinated by Carmel and Eileen.

And initially, we thought he would have to go to England somewhere, maybe to the knight part to a castle or somewhere there.

But Eileen and Carmel had been going to the Solas Low Ace Hotel in Donegal Town one night for whatever reason.

And on the way to drive up, there was a beautiful bronze dragon in the garden.

And the hotel is a castle.
