Flannery Associates immediately launches a massive lawsuit against them, accusing landowners of bonding together to, you know, collude to raise land prices.
And there's massive legal arms.
So they're doing the carrot and the stick and just going off the land crazily.
After a few years, the Times does a piece on this land grab and starts to uncover all the billionaires behind it and Yantramak and this plan.
Suddenly, all these people in Solano County, rather than just getting offers for their land, started getting texts on their phones with polling questions like, rate the favourability of the following names, Joe Biden, Donald Trump, Flannery Associates.
They're getting polled.
They're getting polled.
And what they would think about the idea of a new city with tens of thousands of new homes, parks, solar farms, orchards, etc.
And that's because in California, if you're going to develop non-incorporated land, this is all zoned for agricultural development, if you're going to develop a new city there, it needs to go to a vote of the county people.
So suddenly Gearshift and Yarn starts going on this sort of whirlwind media tour, going to town halls, going to city council meetings and stuff and pitching to people, hey, would you be interested in a brand new city?
Again, putting into perspective, the people in Solano County have just come off the panic of this mass land buying and the upset of all these landowners who were sued by Flannery Associates.
Yeah, it's quite a rollercoaster.
So they've gone, here's $5 million.
