Well, I'll start with this.
You know, to me, the only way he's on the opening day roster is if some kind of a multi-year contract, like talking like 9 to 12 years, gets taken care of where service time is not an issue.
So like, and then, and then that factor seems really easy.
Like, yeah, we should do it.
They should do it.
They should figure out a way to get this done, to keep this guy around.
It's a chance for a generational player to be here for a long time instead of losing him after six years potentially.
But then that factor to me, how do you negotiate with him without negotiating with schemes?
So that kind of plays a weird dynamic into that, that whole thing, even though it should be done.
You know, if you're negotiating with anybody, you should at least be trying with schemes while that's going on.
And I don't think I've heard that necessarily happening.
So I don't think he will be on the opening day roster unless that happens.
And I've kind of been saying that all along.
Can he handle it?
He absolutely is shown he has the ability to handle it when the time comes.
So I expect him, you know,
As far as the question is, is he good enough?
Is he ready for it?
It sounds like he's just straight, professional, way beyond his years, handling all the tests of spring training with the veterans, all that other stuff.
