Part of the reason I retired at the end of it was if I figured out a way to get back from the major shoulder surgery I had, it was probably going to be in the bullpen.
And I didn't know if my reconstructed shoulder would be able to bounce back and pitch back-to-back days.
I was so used to having a certain amount of time in between to get into my โ similar to being in what spot you are in the lineup, right?
Good segue to that.
I was used to having that time off.
I think with Barco, you know, there's just... I didn't think he'd be in the rotation early, but I think he will be in the future, is just because you have some younger guys in the rotation.
So to add another guy that you're going to take care of in the rotation, even though the one thing he has that none of them have is, he's throwing left-handed.
So I think that's the part where people thought he would be in the rotation.
And I really believe...
that Barco deserves to be here, should be here.
But I think we're going to see him get some starts and trip away at some point.
And some, you know, when the bullpen gets taxed or used too much, I think you're going to see him in a situation where, like, we need to bring up Sisk or we need to bring up somebody else from down there because we need bullpen innings that we can throw right away.
But it's good for him at a young age to learn how to do this.
And, you know, this is the big leagues.
You know, he's a young rookie pitcher.
Learning how to pitch in the big leagues in a role that he's not used to.
So that's a lot to put on him.
And he's done a fine job so far, honestly, being in that role, if you think of it from that perspective.
Well, I think it worked for Chandler because it was later in the season.
It wasn't the start of the year.
