Thank you for coming in to tell us about your book, Be Like the Sea, your memoir.

And you've got a remarkable story because it's not just being an Irish Navy captain.

This is an unusual story in that you came from a farming background.

But it also talks about very personal loss in relation to a child born after being diagnosed with fatal fetal abnormality.

And can I actually start with that maybe, please?

Because, you know, we heard an awful lot about women who were living through that back at the time of the abortion referendum, nearly a decade ago now at this stage.

Yeah.

And you continued with the pregnancy and your son lived for how many days?

Six.
