I mean, it really is astounding that Ireland has to be dragged, kicking and screaming, into performing basic compliance with our own law.

And to put sort of numbers on this, the scale of completely illegal turf mining, and let's not call it harvesting, this is mining, this is a one-way destructive process in Ireland.

Commercial peat operators operating with no licence, no planning permission, no permits, are extracting 370,000 tonnes, Matt.

That's a third of a million tonnes of illegal peat extraction.

Well, this is the data coming from, presumably this has been provided by the EPA.

And the gas thing, of course, is lots of this in turn is being exported.
