The one thing that the Giants at least had going for them is that the Bengals, for whatever reason, are desperate.

It's the front office and the coaching staff that feels like they've got to win this year or else.

And now looking at it, I mean, I guess that the Bengals just gave him an extra year and $28 million onto his existing contract.

So he gets $28 million more dollars.

It's not a huge deal, but then that's the other part of it, is that you gave up the number 10 pick, and you're not securing this guy for multiple seasons and giving him a lengthier contract.

I mean, it's a very one-year, take-a-shot-at-it kind of deal.

Like I said, everybody in Cincinnati and that team knows that this is their shot.

If this doesn't work out, they're all going to be posed out next season.

So you have to have that team.

Was that team available when Chris would have been tradable?
