And through all this, he does it. partially because he makes a lot of money and people want to be around whoever makes a lot of money, but also because he bought important infrastructure, communications infrastructure, an ability to reach people and to mobilize mobs. And that is a feature that it's a democracy problem.

It's a media problem. It's a problem for every institution, which is that this tech that gives us much more freedom to see the flaws in the institutions that we have instead of giving us new and better institutions is giving us new and better tyrants.
