I guess I shouldn't be surprised.
That's exactly the problem I'm talking about.
But why not form a girl-only Girl Scout troop of girls who want to do the things you're talking about?
What about that?
And by the way, Boy Scouts don't really do much of that sort of thing either.
And this was a problem going back to when I was a kid.
I joined a Boy Scout troop when I was, I don't remember how old, and I was in it for about a year.
We spent nearly the entire year in a church basement doing arts and crafts at the direction of our scout leader, who was someone's grandmother.
I remember one of our big events was a cake baking contest.
I'm not making that up.
One of our big events, we had to bake a cake.
And I distinctly remember it because all the other boys brought in, and it wasn't just boys, it was girls too, brought in cakes that clearly their parents made.
These cakes were way too good.
There's no way you made that.
And I was the one kid who like actually, and this is how it was for me in school in general, where you get these projects and then every other kid, they go home and their parents just do it for them.
And then they come back with the poster board.
It's just like beautiful.
It's the most beautiful display ever.
And I've got this rinky dink thing because I actually had to do it.
