I was probably drinking like...
20, 30 drinks a day.
And I got back and I was on stage.
And I just felt like I was going to either die.
I was like three or four stone heavier.
I was carrying a lot of weight.
I had really high blood pressure from literally drinking all this.
And I had awful anxiety.
So I'd get on stage thinking I was going to have a heart attack or a panic attack from the moment I got on stage.
So those sets were like the longest hours of my life.
And having loved being on stage,
it just turned into this nightmare, which I just couldn't... It was the worst place... My whole dream was to be in a band with my mates, to drink as much as I wanted, and now I was here, and it turned into a nightmare.
And I got back off that tour...
Just about managed to complete that tour.
The shows went from like an hour and a half.
By the last show, it was like 51 minutes because I just couldn't do any more.
I got off that tour and my wife was like, you know, this is it, Roy.
You have to go and see some of that.

She hooked me up with a friend whose husband was in AA and I met him and he took me to an AA meeting.
