The sky above them was a brilliant, blown-out white.
The truck looked familiar.
"'Is that the same kind of Tacoma?'
I asked.
Ryan leaned closer.
Older model, but yeah, he said.
Same color even.
That's weird.
Miguel handed me the other Polaroid.
This one was darker, taken at night.
It showed a campfire in the foreground, just like ours.
Beyond it, barely visible in the darkness, was the outline of a figure standing at the edge of the light.
Tall, thin, limbs just slightly too long.
The photographer had scribbled something along the bottom border, but it had smudged.
