What's Happening With These Missing Women? | Podcast Episode 165

So technically we would work on near every single box is checked for FBI involvement, including gun, like guns and drugs. Every single box is checked for FBI involvement and they don't ask.

And we see that again and again and again and again across the country in a lot of these unsolved mysteries where somebody goes missing, it's pretty obviously a criminal situation, and the local police are too up their own asses to bother calling in the big guns. I hate the FBI. I hate three-letter agencies. I rail about this constantly.

The only three-letter agency I'm okay with is the National Park Service. Mm-hmm.

Call the FBI! Well, that's the other thing, because there are a lot of reasons why cops might not investigate certain things. One of the top ones being, there's not enough evidence, this probably isn't going to be a closed case, it's going to look bad on my record, things like that. At that point, if you call the FBI, that's not on your record.

Which is why part of me wonders if maybe there was more to this on the police side. I... But at the same time, what I really I genuinely do think the most likely situation is that somebody her own age is responsible for this. And maybe they just maybe only meant to scare her. and then maybe something went wrong and they, you know, cause that's, I will say that much.

It seems unlikely to me that James would have deliberately killed her. I agree.

is weird. And that's why, that's where I think, like, maybe they meant to run her off. Maybe they just meant to scare her. Mm-hmm. Uh, freak her out, you know, like, as revenge, just bother her. And then something went wrong. Maybe Keali snapped. Maybe, uh, it, you know, maybe they were wrestling her out of the car cause they, they decided to take it a little bit further and something went wrong.

Um, hit her head, who knows? And then they went, Oh, Oh shit. Got to clean this up. But the, the thing that really does stick in my head throughout the entire case is James showing up, turning off the car's lights, closing the door, getting home, and then not saying anything for days. And his excuse was, oh, I didn't want to get caught drinking and driving. Okay, go home. You're home? Cool.
