I don't think these people are all that bright.

And so then she helps him prepare a fraudulent quick claim deed, backdated it by 18 months, transferring ownership from this guy's dead mother, the undercover's dead mother, to...
to the undercover agent.
I'm assuming that the story he told was that he was trying to keep the property out of the hands of siblings or other heirs.
That's the only reason why he would do this, because otherwise it would just sort of wash out in probate if this person was the legitimate heir.
And so she gets arrested.
And then she pleads guilty.
And she has no criminal history for taking a $200 bribe.
And she loses her job at the Cook County Recorder of Deeds.
