To her credit, she had two attorneys.
And they had to move the venue of the case to southern Illinois because she had filed so many liens.
There wasn't a judge left or, you know, the clerk works for the courts.
Everybody involved in the case in Chicago in the court system either was a victim or was one degree of separation away from the victim.
So she goes down.
She actually has an attorney to her credit.
Jury finds her guilty of filing retaliatory liens.
I know you're going to find that shocking.
She didn't plead guilty?
She actually went to trial?
She went to trial.
She already wrote the letters.
She already admitted it.
That was introduced as evidence.
That's what we call a confession in my business.
At the sentencing, her lawyer is saying, just give her probation.
He's saying the case against my client is absurd.
It's akin to someone trying to pass monopoly money and then being charged with counterfeiting.
That was the defense's argument.
That's what the government said.
