There are no Sumerian writings that exist.
They did not write anything down.
What happened was Gilgamesh, during the time period of Uruk and the reemergence of Mesopotamia, that he became part of what's called the Neo-Akkadian civilization.
Now,
Ryan, can you pull up that slide on Uruk and describing Uruk and the Sumerians for a minute?
If you look up, this is really, this is a critical place to start.
Super important for us to lay this down.
So when you pull up and you look up, you just type in, here we go, right here, right?
You just do a simple search.
What time period is Gilgamesh?
Was he Sumerian?
What was Uruk part of, right?
And look at what their answers are here.
They say that Gilgamesh and Uruk are part of the Sumerian civilization.
You see that?
Except none of the tablets and none of the chronologies say that at all.
They all say that the first five cities, Eridu to Sharupak, was far before Gilgamesh.
And we know that because Gilgamesh goes to seek out the Noah Zayasudra figure to go find out and discover all these things and brings things back with him, which we'll get into later.
Now, that's the first huge mistake in archaeology, and I want to point it out.
I mean, we're talking about a massive mistake.
