Tony went on to write and present his own TV shows, filming in nearly 100 countries.

Tony would, I guess, hate to be called a celebrity, although he definitely was a celebrity before.
He was the first celebrity chef, as in someone who came out of the kitchen and was a true ambassador for everything that is about food.
And setting the table became a different experience.
People started to appreciate that sitting down with someone and sharing a meal could in fact deepen a relationship and create warmth.
And that friendship with Philip was particularly warm, that over the years, Tony invited his old boss and friend to film with him across the world.
They made a pact to one day retire from their busy lives.
As much as he enjoyed the success, if you had given him the choice, I think that, you know, he would have done whatever.
I have done and which was our project, which was to move to Hoi An in Vietnam and just keep it easy.
And so it was always kind of the secret garden that we were dreaming of.
Anthony Bourdain died in 2018.
His TV programmes, books and essays are still enjoyed.
I don't remember exactly the last time I saw him.
It was probably at a restaurant.
And when he passed away, I was actually in Vietnam on the trip.
And right there and then I just decided, well, that's it.
