I'm submitting my guess for the sort of famous person next to Max at the Cucumbers in Peter Montes.

I'm guessing Red Simons of Hey Hey It's Saturday fame.

Though I'm not sure that Max would be across that show being a relative newcomer to the country, everything is showbiz, etc.

I have heard of Hey Hey at Saturdays.

I have heard of Red Simons, but I don't know what Red Simons looks like.

And I can confirm the person next to me at the cucumbers in Peter Montes was not Red Simons.
