It was just like the slow realization that AJ Styles' career was ending over the last two weeks has been really hard to comprehend.
It's been really hard to wrap my head around.
It's been really hard to grasp.
When AJ got off the phone with his wife and said, hey, I'm going to do this.
I'm going to take on Gunter and I'm going to put my career on the line.
I thought it was a stupid decision for AJ to do that.
But I thought there's no way something's going to happen.
There'll be some sort of schmoz.
Maybe someone will come out.
Maybe we'll end in a disqualification.
But AJ's career is not ending.
But then he shows up on SmackDown and we find out that he has a match at Saturday night's main event against Shinsuke Nakamura.
And I go, oh, no.
It's still good.
No, especially after we talked to Gunter just a couple minutes ago on this show.
It's done.
I'm happy that it has a little bit of a storybook ending with AJ's career ending at the Royal Rumble.
No, Sam.
Not like that.
But because 10 years ago, he debuted in WWE at the Royal Rumble.
