70 to 90 years old.
And one of them is called The Little Sister, for example.
And before I start writing a book every year, I always reread chapter 13 of The Little Sister because it has nothing to do with the plot of the book.

You don't have to reread the whole book to read chapter 13.
It's just his character, Marlowe, taking a drive around Los Angeles.
And I think that was printed in 1939.
And it still captures the essence of Los Angeles.
So he achieved, to me, a rare level of art in his book and his description of Los Angeles there that still inspires me every time I try to do my own take on Los Angeles.
Yeah, I was 19 years old.
I was a voracious reader of crime fiction, but I was drawn towards contemporary crime stories.
And so it was like 1975, I think it was.
I was in college.
I knew who Raymond Chandler was, but all his last book had been printed in the 50s, published in the 50s.
And for some reason, I had a bias against that.
I didn't want to read about the 50s.
I wanted to read about 1970s.
And so I never read him.
But then where I went to school, they had on Mondays, they had a dollar movie night.
And I went to it pretty religiously.
