I don't know who gave it that, but we're going to go with that because it sounds really great, right?
So this is located in Death Valley in California, one of the world's hottest places in the world.
So we do this race in July.
On purpose, because that's the hottest time of the year, and the temperatures range between 120 to 135 degrees.
You're running all on asphalt from the lowest point of California, which is negative 200 feet, which sounds great, right?
Yeah.
And then we run up to Whitney Portal.
So over the 135 miles through the 120-some-odd degree temperatures, you are...
climbing over 15,000 feet through all of whatever the desert's going to throw at you.
So it's always a mystery.
In that heat.
I've heard that it is so hot that sometimes shoes can melt.
I have heard that as well, that you need to run on the white line.
I didn't have to do that.
So does it actually happen?
I don't know.
How hot was it when you did it?
When we started, actually, it's really unique because you start at night.
I started at 11 p.m.
There's three waves that start.
