WHO Director General Tedros Ghebreyesus, who is currently in the Democratic Republic of Congo, said that the patients had recovered from the Bundibugyo strain of the disease, which has been identified in the current outbreak.
There are currently no approved medicines for the Bundibugyo strain.
However, Tedros said that it is still possible for people to recover from the disease and that his agency is working towards finding vaccines and treatments.
Meanwhile, the Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has called on African countries to enhance their health response systems and undertake shared responsibility in protecting lives during the current Ebola outbreak.

His comments come in the wake of recent attacks on Ebola treatment facilities in eastern Congo by crowds seeking to reclaim bodies for traditional burials.
The WHO Safe Burial Protocol calls for a trained team to assist in burials while honoring religious and cultural practices.
Procedures include ensuring the body is handled only by those wearing personal protective equipment and ensuring disinfection is undertaken.
Traditional burial rites often involve direct contact with a victim's body, which the WHO warns creates a high risk of exposure to the disease.
